IC Alliance U16 Girls Team Meeting February 6, 2014

Start Date – The Girls High School Stae Competition is held the weekend of June 14/15 this year and training for the club summer schedule will begin the next week. We will offer practice Monday through Thursday in the week between HS and Regionals and then three a week as we build up to CSK

Tournaments – The proposed summer schedule is as follows;

June 21-25 – Regionals, Dayton OH

July 24/25 (Thursday/Friday) – College Search Kickoff (CSK) Muscatine

Summer Team Fees Per Player –

Tryouts - June 16-20. Bid day June 26 

Alliance Summer Camp - July 7-11

Striker/Keeper Camp -  August 4-7

Blue Sombrero – Each family needs to create an account on our website, 'Blue Sombrero' to receive up to the minute communications and announcements as well as to view individual 'Team Pages' this spring. All tryout registration and future communications will be through Blue Sombrero

Fab 4's – The Girls weekend of the Fabs is February 15-16 and as it's our own event, I expect everyone who does not have an ODP commitment that weekend to be available.

USSF E License Certification – If any of you are interested in getting involved with coaching, the Iowa Soccer Association is hosting a United States Soccer Federation E License course in Cedar Rapids this March (7-9). The course is 18 hours and consists of classroom and field sessions, running Friday night through Sunday afternoon. The cost of the course is $100 and registration can be completed at iowasoccer.org (under 'programs' and 'coaching courses')

Referee License – There will be a Grade 8 (entry level) referee clinic in Iowa City at the downtown Rec center (on Gilbert) March 1. This is tentatively scheduled by the Iowa Referee Committee and I am awaiting concrete details. I encourage all high school age players to attend a  course as it's an excellent means for you to continue to learn the game and a great opportunity to earn some pocket money on the weekends.
