Cheer Coordinator/ Cadets Coach: Jessica Horwatt
Hello! This is my 2nd year as the Cheer Coordinator for the Lower Burrell Flyers Organization, and I could not be more excited. I am also a coach for the Cadet cheer team. I have been married to my husband Kevin for 10 years and we have 2 daughters, Rylee and Taylinn, who are both cheerleaders! I have been part of the Flyers' organization for many years. My younger brother played from age 5 all the way through to his last year as a Flyer. In addition to that, my husband was also a football coach and my dad was on the board. It feels that I have come full circle now that I have a chance to coach and be part of the board now. In addition to my time at Flyers as a cheer coach, I am also a competitive gymnastics coach for my oldest daughter’s gymnastics team. I am the co-president of the Stewart Elementary School PTA, and I work full time for Giant Eagle’s corporate office as a Gift Card Coordinator. In my free time, I am a photographer and have a passion for photography so you will see me capturing all kinds of pictures of both our cheerleaders and our football players. I am looking forward to another great season!
Cheer Co-Coordinator/ Recruits Head Coach: Jennifer Yarussi
Hello! I am this year’s Co-Cheer Coordinator with my sister (Jessica) and head coach of the Recruit Cheerleaders! My husband and I have a son and a daughter, both of which will be Recruits this year! I have been part of the Flyers' organization for many years. I watched my brother play from the age of 5 all the way through till his last year as a Flyer, and my dad was on the board for many years. This will be my 4th year here with my kids. In addition to my time at Flyers as a cheer coach, I work full time for Giant Eagle Corporate office as a Supervisor in the Customer Care department. I am also president of Bon Air PTA and enjoy doing things with the kids. Throughout the season you will find me with the cheerleaders cheering on the boys! I look forward to all the great things we will do as an organization in 2024!
Flyers Head Coach: Randi Karish
My children and I have been a part of the Flyers organization for the last 3 years. My daughters are both cheerleaders. My son is 2 and loves being their mascot. I am a funeral director at the Giglers Funeral Home in Lower Burrell, as well as a proctor at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Along with coaching cheer, I enjoy coaching basketball. I love baking, cooking, reading, and being outdoors with my kids!
Flyers Coach: Jenna Fesz
This will be my 4rd year coaching flyers cheer. I went to Burrell High School and cheered from 7th-12th grade. I was varsity cheer captain my junior and senior years! I graduated from Burrell in 2023, and I am now a freshman at St. Vincent College. I am majoring in early childhood education. At Saint Vincent I am a part of the cheerleading team, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Kappa Delta Pi (Education Honor Society). I can’t wait to see what this season brings :)
Cadets Head Coach: Katie Colledge
Hello! I’m a Group Supervisor/Office Assistant for Highlands Childcare Center, LLC. I’m a 2008 Valley High School graduate, with 6 years of JV/Varsity cheerleading experience. I’m coming into my third year of coaching for the Flyers Organization, 2nd year as head coach of the Cadets! My first year I was assistant coach of the Recruits. My goal as head coach is to provide a safe, fun learning environment for my girls to develop and further their cheer/gym skills and to overall find love in the sport. I look forward to working with your families!
Cadets Coach: Maria Carpenzano
I’m in my fourth year as a cheer coach with the Flyers Organization. I have two daughters who are also cheerleaders. My husband is the announcer and is also on the board. By day I’m a school based mental health therapist at a private academic school.
Recruits Coach: Rachel Febbraio
Hello! I am a preschool teacher, wrapping up my 13th school year! My husband and I have two amazing kids. Our son is graduating high school and our daughter is going into her third year of cheer! This will be my second year as a cheer coach for the Flyers. I am looking forward to another fun year!
